Once a year the Christmas mood completely engulfs us and carries us
into the holidays. Whoever is actually looking to avoid all the ruckus is
out of luck, since that you are bombarded from all sides with candy canes,
Father Christmas, Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, lights, present
ideas, "give your loved one..." incentives, and so on, which is taking the
commercial aspects of this holiday beyond extreme.
I am not really the super-duper Christmas fan with all the rigmarole,
tree, with a star, presents, socks, candy and whatnot. I have to be honest,
though, I like the Christmas mood. I like the cinnamon smell, cloves,
cardamom, anise and vanilla, I love to cuddle at home when outside is cold
and wintry and warm my bones with luscious hot chocolate, I adore the
chance to flee away from the regular monotony and have a couple of days
where everything is different. Christmas should be spent with people you
care for, people who are important to you, be with them, laugh and simply
enjoy the time spent together, without having to watch the clock or
calendar, rush out for meetings or similar drag.
I adore the fact that our 85 year old grandma is still with us and
drinking hot wine punch, i relish the glinting eyes of my loved ones when
they receive meaningful gifts, presents that were creatively chosen or
made, presents from the heart; I enjoy rummaging in the kitchen and
cooking, the short term solitude only disturbed by voices of people I call
my family.
Perhaps Christmas is a time of introspection, where you finally
recognize what life is all about, where the happiness is hidden and how you
can live a fulfilled life, at long last?
Maybe I got a bit philosophical here, personal for sure, but I wish
you all wonderful, peaceful, restful, enjoyable Christmas holidays, embrace
this time of content to the fullest and let us meet again in the new year.
It is going to be a fun, colourful, exciting, incredible, alluring,
enticing and sexy new 2016, this much I can tell you already! Btw...
